This place is a joke. All they do is medicate and observe. The facility was nasty. In my room there was excrement on the floor, inside of the shower curtain, and smeared on the wall. Only after reporting it twice, did someone come to clean the bathroom. If you are ill, an appointment must be made to see the physician. Any idea what they did for you? Nothing at all. I was there due to a reaction to new medication thanks to the Baker Act. I wouldn't give it even one star, but it wouldn't clear.

Women, and they place you in the women's unit. I highly recommend The Vines, but it has a lot of work to do on the other adult units.

On my last day they placed me in the women's unit. It was a much better environment. It was actually pretty helpful, and they listened to my needs. I'm not sure why I wasn't placed there in the first place considering I was compliant, and cooperative the entire time. So, if someone is a

Top notch facility. The entire staff goes above and beyond the call of duty to help their patients.

My husband signed himself in this weekend because he couldn't see his addiction doctor until Monday. It was a preemptive move to protect his sobriety. He was told that he would be discharged with plenty of time to get to the appointment with his usual doctor. Instead, he was held against his will. Missed his appointment. They tried to not put me through on the phone to speak to him or anyone that could help me. It wasn't until I threatened to call the police that I was finally put through to someone helpful. I FULLY believe they try to hold anyone with good insurance as long as they can for the $$$. It is probably assumed that no one will advocate for the patients who are vulnerable. If I hadn't had a fit and gotten through to the one person there that talked to me like a human, he'd probably have been held there as long as the insurance kept paying.

I was placed on a 72 hour hold, and placed at The Vines. I felt for the most part the staff was friendly, and fair. A few complaints I have are when it says 72 hours, it shouldn't turn into 6 days. I was placed on the adult unit with some nice people who just wanted to get help for addiction, and depression; however, I was also placed with some violent people who couldn't control their anger. I actually was concerned for my safety.
