Employees never seem to know anything about the animals they're selling, aside from outdated and incorrect information. On the rare occasion that they do hire someone with experience and correct knowledge, they don't last very long, replaced by someone clueless.
I went to this place wanting a hamster, I got there bought all the stuff I needed and the hamster. When I got home I set up all the stuff the cage, the bedding, the water and the toys. The next morning I went to go feed my hamster, it was DEAD I didn't even have it for 24 hours. The day after that I went back PetSmart and told them my story, they said that they were sorry and gave me a new one for free. THEN give it 4 or 5 days guess what..... this one died too, I fed it there was plenty of water in the bottle, there were tons of toys, a nice big cage and it died. So unless I forgot to do something care wise, I came the conclusion that they (the hamsters in that cage) were sick. Then I went back to PetSmart and told them my story and returned EVERYTHING. So if you are planning on getting any type of hamster from any PetSmart or other places like that then, you have been warned.
Wonderful service. Mike was an amazing help and so was the lady who has a turtle. I've never had a better experience anywhere else.
Went expecting to adopt a cat. I came home with a 4 week old kitchen that someone had found I love her the attendants helped me find the things I needed for the kitten. They were very helpful in finding everything I needed.
The fish wall is a mess, full of stressed and sickly animals. Their bettas are always in horrible, raggedy shape because they're kept in unfiltered little cups (ammonia, nitrite & nitrate buildup from no filtration is fatal). The reptiles are all thin, stressed, and some are full of parasites. Most are lethargic and unresponsive. The birds aren't in much better shape, though they're all high-strung and terrified instead. Really, the cat room is the only area where the animals look healthy, and that's because they belong to an independent adoption group, and the individuals who care for the cats aren't affiliated with PetSmart.
Do some research and find reputable places to get a pet.
PetSmart is really good for your pets needs and you can get cats and dogs there to they love to help your cats and dogs also
