This place sucks! This is my second time giving it a try. And it sucks just like the first time. I have no idea how they win any awards! There is no greeting when you enter. You have no idea if someone is gonna seat you or you just find a dusty, crumbly seat. I came in and "found my way" to a table only to be greeted with a huffy "you can sit on the other side, I'm tryna keep this did closed" no hello, no how are you today, no I'll be right with you! Nothing. I'll bet the tips are great here. I won't come back. And I do not recommend this place at all. Unless you don't care and just want a beer to watch the game. No telling how long you will have to wait though, so take a book or something. I had my taste buds all ready for some all you can eat crab legs! I wouldn't spend a dime here! It sucks! Period!
Murphy's Oyster Bar deserves 0000 and minus stars!!! We drove 12 hours and thought we would enjoy some seafood, especially oysters as we heard they were good. When we entered the restaurant we were ignored, so we politely sat patiently at the bar. In the 20 minutes we sat, waitresses and a few other employees walked by without a glance our way. Extremely RUDE, I have worked in many restaurants and have been fortunate to travel all over and have never been treated with so much distaste. We decided to leave however could not resist asking if they were open, and were rudely told yea, nasty! And the place reeked, nasty smells and people. Do not visit!
Was there for 30 minutes. Had to find our own menus. No service. 1 waitresses trying to handle the whole place. Got a watered-down drink, Decided to leave . 1 beam & coke and a sweet tea was 9 dollars and some change. The waitress said "you don't have to tip me" ha.. my tip is.. find a new place to work..
Food was good but expensive. Service was really slow on refilling drinks and waitress did not know the price of beer. Ended up getting charged more than the price I was told. If not for the bad service I would have rated this place as a 3 or 4. I do not mind spending money on dinner but I expect the service to match the price. It did not. I will not be back.
We enjoyed our dinner. The oysters on the half shell were great, very fresh. We had fried clams and onion rings. Everything was very good. We are looking forward to going back.
